It can be confusing choosing a new motorcycle with so many models available, particularly if you are not sure what to look for. Each motorcycle falls into a particular category or class which can help clarify what is included with any specific model. We’ve gathered together information on the different classes here to help you choose.

The most common class is the cruiser. These are easy to drive, long lasting and economical. This type also has the most comprehensive choice for design and style. The fundamental design includes basic handlebars, a standard seat, and features designed for comfort. They are built for ease of turning and high speed handling. One weakness of this type is that they are inclined to be heavier compared to other types of motorcycles.

Most of the other types of custom motorcycles also fall under the cruiser type because of their type of features included and the design. Totally modified motorcycles often called choppers are another type of cruiser motorcycle. Another popular type of cruiser is the tour bike which is made for comfort as they are usually used for long trips.

Sports bikes are another type which are designed for high speed. When you are looking for high speed rather than for comfort, this is the type of bike to choose. For long rides we do not recommend this type of bike because they are designed more for racing. Nearly all sport bikes are light and feature a tough suspension. They give the operator the facility to execute tight turns while at high speeds.

A common choice is a dual sporting type of bike. This type of bike features large tires and it can easily be used in off road or on road situations. The combination makes it perfect for anyone who enjoys using their motorbike  for commuting purposes as well as on off road trails.

Off Road motorcycles are enjoyed by individuals of all ages as as they can be legally ridden without a motorbike license, although they are illegal to ride on streets. off road motorcycles are frequently used for climbing dirt hills or racing around dirt tracks and are frequently called dirt bikes. These types of motorcycles do not have headlights or turn signals.

Deciding which category of bike you should purchase is only the start of the process to buy a new bike. You’ll also have to decide on how much you can afford to spend, and then make a comparison of the models of the type you decide on. Don’t rush but test ride several assorted models and makes of motorcycles to determine which ones feel best for you. Once you have narrowed down your selection, take each for a test run and make your final decision.
